Wetland Restoration Field Day
Got a piece of land you are always arguing with? Perhaps it’s a wetland!
Come along to our practical workshop on Friday 27th February 1 – 5pm to hear how to approach restoring a wetland. You’ll get the opportunity to hear and see from farmers who participated in our wetland restoration projects last year.
Plus, we’ll have experts on hand to give you the advice needed to get started on planting, stream health and fish.
Fresh Water Farm Plans
We don’t have details of these yet, but we understand that having them in place may bring a range of benefits. We’re happy to help, and one of the tools we’ve developed can be found on our website: mcg.org.nz/catchment-features-and-potential-mitigation/
This will allow you to explore the catchment in detail and plan actions to improve river and stream water quality. The tool pulls together information from ORC and other public resources.
We hope to host workshops on this tool later in the year. It is one of a range of resources Waiora Manuherekia is working on bringing landowners as they gather the information required for Fresh Water Farm Plans.
WasteMINZ Posters
Improve your recycling and waste processes on farm, see below downloadable posters for the woolshed or cowshed for all staff to follow.
These posters are also available in translated versions for people from Vanuatu, Philippines, Samoa and Mandarin speakers, if you want one of these versions, please email waste@codc.govt.nz.
We're working with the Waste Minimisation team at Central Otago District Council to get some rural/farm specific guidance for you, visit us at the Central Otago A&P Show on 14th February to learn more.
