This wetland, located on Lauder Road, was already being well managed by the landowners, who had worked hard to keep weeds under control. Through the Waiora Manuherekia project, we supported further restoration by helping to fund new fencing around the wetland, with the landowners taking on the construction work themselves.
In addition, riparian planting was carried out to enhance the waterway, providing long-term benefits for water quality, biodiversity, and habitat.
