At Thomsons Creek, the landowner had already completed full stock-proof fencing, creating a strong foundation for wetland restoration. Waiora Manuherekia’s role was to build on this effort by carrying out targeted native planting throughout the wetland to encourage biodiversity and improve habitat resilience. In addition, a small amount of ground spraying was undertaken to carefully manage weeds within the wetland area. Together, these steps are helping to enhance the ecological health of Thomsons Creek and ensure it continues to thrive into the future.
This wetland sold during the restoration; some documents will refer to the new landowner and some to the prior landowner.
